There are a lot of salmon recipes out there with a maple syrup and mustard glaze but most of them involve soy sauce, which a lot of people love but always had an odd flavor to me. This version uses lemon instead, and maple sugar instead of syrup, which is a bit sweeter. The butter also helps keep the salmon from drying out if you like your salmon well done. The glaze works on many other things as well: chicken, ham, pork chops, sweet potatoes, broccoli...
Ingredients
2 salmon steaks
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp maple sugar
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
Whisk glaze ingredients together and brush on salmon. Bake at 425 until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees, about 15-20 minutes.
